SEDRO-WOOLLEY — The NW Innovation Resource Center Lab-SWIFT is about two months away from opening on the SWIFT Center campus in Sedro-Woolley.
The lab will be housed in a building that was formerly a drug treatment center.
The building is undergoing extensive renovation in preparation for the grand opening and community celebration slated for Oct. 11.
The lab will provide a space for entrepreneurs and small businesses to research technology and innovation.
“It’s very collaborative and it’s great to see,” Port of Skagit Communications Director Linda Tyler said. “It’s going to be a great addition to our campus.”
Northwest Innovation Resource Center Director Diane Kamionka is excited about the new facility.
“We have been talking about this for so long,” she said. “It’s nice to finally see it on its way.”
